About The Council
Barrow Town Council consists of 21 Councillors representing the 11 wards of Barrow, located on the Furness peninsula in Cumbria. The Chair of the Council is the Mayor of Barrow. The Town Council will have certain responsibilities, devolved from the Westmorland and Furness Council, which will be identified in due course but currently have responsibility for and management of the Town allotments.
The aspirations of the elected Councillors are to provide a visible representation of their respective wards and Town as a whole, supporting our residents, businesses, organisations and visitors whilst acknowledging responsibility for allocating funds appropriately.
